This trademark does not indicate a specific type of a four-wheel drive system in use on the vehicle. 4motion-branded Volkswagen vehicles with transverse engine mounting utilize Haldex automatic all wheel drive and vehicles with longtitudial engine mounting are using Torsen full-time all wheel drive.
