Duster

Dacia Duster has transversal engines;

4WD system is taken from Nissan Quashqai, and it is a front-wheel-drive vehicle in normal conditions and you can select from a button 2WD-AUTO-LOCK if you need 4-wheel-drive; in 2WD mode the vehicle is a normal FWD; in AUTO mode the vehicle is normally FWD but if slipping occures, rear wheels will engage to gain traction; in LOCK mode the central differential splits 50/50 torque front/rear and is used in off-road conditions up to 60km/h, at a highest speed the system automatically change from LOCK to AUTO. Vehicle has ABS, ASR and EDL( electronic differential lock) which helps in wheel slipping conditions to gain traction by breaing the wheels which are slipping; Vehicle can pass easy diagonal tests by breaking, independently, the diagonal wheels that are slipping, but the system is a little bit slow.

Independent suspension with multilink arms rear & front. This care have 6 gears. First gear is very reducer to compensate reduction gear (transfer box).

Hi all,
Would like to know what the change process is on a duster 4x4 when changing from Awd to 2wd or vice versa , does the car need to be stationery/ clutch disengaged the manual does not cover this ?

Dacia Duster has no LSD, it has only the ASR+ ESP which controls the traction.
